About

I’m Stephanie.

A wedding and editorial photographer in Oregon, working wherever you are going. I have been doing this since 2008 and I still get nervous, in the best way, before every one.

I photographed my first wedding in 2008. Since then the work has taken me from Paris to Indonesia, across seven countries in Central America with a camera bag on my back, and to a lot of Oregon beaches in the rain.

Couples tend to say the same two things afterwards: that I was calm, and that they forgot I was there. I will take both. I read a room quickly, I do not need to be the loudest person in it, and I notice the small stuff. The grandmother fixing a collar. The look across the table. The kid underneath it.

I have a BFA in Photography and an MBA I mostly use for spreadsheets. I care about photographs that hold up, as objects and as a record. I want your kids to open the album and feel like they were sitting in the third row.

When the camera is down I am out in the Northwest with my husband, our three kids, and a husky: backpacking, kayaking, climbing, or all of us piled on the couch.

Where your talents and the needs of the world cross, there lies your calling.

That old line is the closest thing I have to a mission statement. Mine is to tell stories, and photographs are how I do it.

After the cake is gone and the dress is in the back of the closet, what stays is what got recorded. I do not take that lightly.

If your day is loud, the pictures will be loud. If it is quiet, they will be quiet. I am not going to manufacture anything. When you look back, I want you to feel the day again, not just see it.

Working alongside me

The team.

When my own calendar is full, weddings move to a small team of associate photographers I have trained and shot alongside. They photograph, I edit and check every gallery before it goes out. The roster is small on purpose.
